Best Pho in Saigon… with Kyle Le!

Giải Trí

We’re in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), Vietnam, with the one and only Kyle Le from Kyle Le Dot Net, eating what he says is the BEST PHO in all of Saigon. The restaurant: Phở Lệ, a locally owned pho restaurant that is famous for its outstandingly delicious beef pho.

We each ordered the “special,” which contains beef and a little bit of everything. While we chow down on this Vietnamese specialty, we discuss varieties of pho, compare flavors in North Vietnam and South, and have a nice chat about Vietnamese food in general.

About Kyle Le:
He grew up in Garden Grove, California, but has been living in Vietnam and producing videos here for almost six years. He has traveled basically everywhere in Vietnam and eaten every specialty dish the country has to offer. His expertise in all things Vietnamese is truly impressive, and that’s why it was such an honor to have dinner with him at his favorite pho restaurant here in Saigon

He’s such a cool, down-to-earth guy with amazing passion when it comes to travel and food in Vietnam, and YOU MUST check out his channel and subscribe to him because he posts videos way more often than I do.

About Me:

My name is Kevin Cook. I’m originally from Dallas, TX, but I’ve been living and traveling in Asia since 2013.

After graduating from university in 2011 and working a few unfulfilling jobs, I saved enough money to move to Asia and work as a teacher for a few years. That opportunity allowed me to travel around and experience new foods and cultures, and ignited a passion for blogging and making videos.

Now I travel full-time and make videos with the goal that I can encourage YOU to pursue your own dream of overseas traveling and living.

If you enjoy watching my videos, you can help me grow my channel by giving my videos a ‘thumbs up’, leaving a comment, sharing them, and subscribing!

Thank you 🙂

  1. @monkey – ur content is so genuine and very interesting to watch and just sos chill. I watch kyles videos and his comments make me feel really uncomfortable. I just think he’s very awkward. I think u can see where I’m coming from. Something just about his aura and persona doesn’t fit

  2. Really enjoyed the video. Would have been even more enjoyable without Kyle’s egregious claims… I.e. his statement about rice paddy herb not found in US and Northern Vietnamese food not being good are both false. When it comes to food, speaking in absolutes gets you in trouble.

  3. Too greasy not fragrant. Doesn’t even taste like pho. The flavours are not there. Definitely over bragged and hyped by tourist. Tough beef even the raw beef was chewy. Poor produce.

Too all americans and tourist the best pho is not here in Vietnam, even mentioned by world food critics. You’d be surprised the best pho in the world is here in Melbourne Australia.

Do yourself a favour if you ever come to Melbourne go to the suburbs; Springvale and Footscray for a bowl of pho. It blows Vietnam’s pho out of the water not to exaggerate but come see for yourself to believe. Melbourne has all the herbs Vietnam has including rice paddy herbs and banana blossom and fresh rice noodles no packing junk. Also to mention Australian beef is world famous and is the main ingredient and even raw beef melts in your mouth.

Sorry this is my very honest story and experience at pho Le and many pho restaurants in Vietnam. Can’t come close to Melbourne Pho ranked best in the world thus most liveable city in the world.

    Check it out.

  4. out of both locations kyle took you to the worst location. its dirty as hell there and the pho there is garbage compared to the other location. you didnt get a chance to try thier besr quality pho.

  5. Why would he say that the food in the north is not that good comparing to the south? Sure, everyone has different taste but Hanoi actually has the original version of Pho. You should try both and decide yourself.

  6. Kevinn. again a video, awesome! had a question for you. what do you do when you are traveling alone to a place where you know no one. in terms of loneliness of course and meeting people.

im currently traveling in New York and dont know a single person. i wondered how you did this.

  7. in case you didn't know, the lady @:29 what she is doing by crossing her fingers is basically giving the middle finger to the camera

  8. he says he just finished eating the pho 3:27 he clearly has a whole bowl of broth……blasphemy!!!!

  9. Every 2 summers, I go to Vietnam to visit my relatives. I get pho VERY often for dinner and I really like Non fancy pho because it just makes it taste good! Idk how but I like pho from everywhere.

  10. its true that theres more MSG in Hanoi Pho..the only good pho in Hanoi is in the central part of the city..I only like the Pho my mom used to cook at home..I guess Pho in Sai Gon might be better although I have never tried it but seems like tourists are all crazy over it

  11. Yes you can buy rice paddy herds! Just go to your local Asian grocery store you can find it. I hated when videos lies about this kind of things… man I'm going to unsubscribe just for that!

  12. I live in Central Va USA and I have Rice Paddy Herb in my fridge… took some to a restaurant for my Pho at Lunch today!
